Tussah

Tussah or wild silk has a rough, varigated texture. It comes from cocoons of a different moth than the finer textured silks usually seen. The cocoons of farmed moths are unraveled in one long continuous strand, while wild moths are allowed to emerge from the cocoon, breaking the strands. Wild silk is also very difficult to bleach and dye, creating a great natural texture and coloration that mixes well with other fabrics.
