Nothing feels more authentic to us than Japan's mended and patched textiles referred to as boro, or ragged. The diversity of patches on any given piece is a veritable encyclopedia of hand loomed cotton indigo from old Japan.

These textiles are generational storybooks, lovingly repaired and patched with what fabric was available. Never intended to be viewed as a thing of beauty, these collages of personal history have a special soul. This boro started life as a length of Katzome, or resist dyed indigo. Backed in white, washed Belgian linen.
